After searching for hours for houses which should have been in sequence with the numbers of surrounding houses, a freindly postman told me that the numbers were never used.

When I asked ladies whether they would care to be photographed outside their houses, some of them insisted on waiting until they had done their hair, in spite of the fact that I told them the print would be less than postcard size.

Faringdon is a fine old historic town, I wish more young people would offer themselves as candidates for the town council. Faringdon has not been served as well as it might have been for the last few years. At the age of eighty I feel I am too old to tackle the problem.
