To celebrate the coronation of King George V in 1911 an ox was roasted in the Market Place. Left to right (carvers & cooks): Supt. Maunders; Bob Hughes; Doe Parker, the vet; Bert Pullen; Mr Haynes; Edward Heavens; George Heavens; Tommy (Tinker) Anns.
