Meetings of the Society

Faringdon Town Hall 2018The society’s meetings are held in the iconic building in the Market Place at the centre of Faringdon known as ‘The Old Town Hall. Meetings  are held on the third Wednesday of the month starting at 7.45 p.m. with doors open from 7.30 p.m. Visitors are welcome, small charge of £5 (cash please). THE WILTS & BERKS CANAL past, present and future

The canal opened in 1810 but had a chequered career until closure in 1914. In 1977 restoration began in a few places but in 2004 restoration of the entire 62 miles was decided upon for this major East to West canal link.
